RhizoDraw
w/ Vitalina Bondarciuc

The integration of generative artificial intelligence in audiovisual creation challenges traditional notions of artistic and performative authorship, while introducing new methods of production. RhizoDraw is an interactive system that connects a graphics tablet to Stable Diffusion to generate sound and image in real time.

Inspired by Deleuze and Guattari's concept of the rhizome, the project operates as a non-hierarchical and perpetually transforming structure, where each audiovisual element influences and is influenced by the other in a continuous flow. Like rhizomes, which “do not begin or end; they are always in the middle, between things, interbeing, intermezzo” (A Thousand Plateaus, 1980), RhizoDraw dissolves the boundaries between creator, tool, and artwork.

The system develops a constant feedback loop: the user's input generates images that influence the sound, which in turn modifies the image again, in a rhizomatic process of multiple and decentralized relations. The result is an adaptive experience in which AI is not merely a medium, but an active agent in real-time audiovisual composition.
